Garden City Electronic Music Society closed out the summer of 2018 with a special multimedia performance in an abandoned lot in the City’s downtown core. 833 Fort Street is slated for redevelopment and presently serves as temporary storefront space for a Victoria Regional Art Gallery pop-up gallery. Behind the building is an open lot surrounded by new concrete and old brick, with a small green space as well. Vancouver’s “The Memory Palace” performed a live modular electronics set in tandem with live video synthesis by Emma Tomic. Victoria’s Cascadia Sound also performed live in quadraphonic sound.
This event was curated and produced by the Garden City Electronic Music Society and would not have been possible without the assistance of Integrate Arts Society, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Open Space Gallery, Sunbelt Rentals, Long & McQuade Victoria, and our volunteers.
